FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I perform Umrah for the first time alone?
Yes, adult males may perform Umrah without a group. Women below 45 generally require a mahram in the group, though policies have evolved — your agent can advise on the current Saudi requirements.
What vaccinations are required for Umrah?
A valid Meningococcal meningitis vaccination (ACWY) is mandatory and must be administered at least 10 days before departure. Check for any additional health advisories closer to your travel date.
Can women perform Umrah without a mahram?
Women aged 45 and above may travel with an organised group without a mahram, under updated Saudi guidelines. Women below 45 still require a mahram. We recommend confirming the latest rules before applying.
How much luggage should I bring?
Most airlines allow 23 kg check-in and 7 kg cabin baggage. Saudi Airlines permits an additional 5 litres of Zamzam water. Pack light to remain comfortable during intensive walking.
Is wheelchair assistance available at the Haram?
Yes. Wheelchairs are available for hire at both the Masjid al-Haram and Masjid an-Nabawi. For large groups with elderly pilgrims, pre-arranging support through your group operator is advisable.
What currency should I carry?
Saudi Riyal (SAR). International debit and credit cards are widely accepted in hotels, malls and restaurants. Carry some cash for small purchases, transportation and Haram vicinity vendors.
What if I forget or make an error during a ritual?
In most cases, a missed or imperfect element can be compensated through a dam (expiation). Consult a knowledgeable scholar or your group's religious guide — there is room for mercy and correction.
Can children perform Umrah?
Yes. There is no minimum age for Umrah. A child's Umrah is valid and earns reward for the accompanying parent. Ensure the child's passport and documents are in order.
